After a decade-long tenure with the Medical College of Wisconsin, Department of Plastic Surgery, she partnered with a nationally recognized plastic surgeon and played an integral role in establishing a successful private aesthetic surgery practice. In 2011, she established ReFresh Aesthetic Center™ and serves as its clinical director, nurse practitioner, and certified aesthetic nurse specialist. As a certified plastic surgical nurse (CPSN) for the past 25 years and a certified aesthetic nurse specialist (CANS) since 2013, Dawn Sagrillo recognizes the value of specialty training. Her devotion to ongoing education led to her involvement for more than a decade as vice president and clinical instructor with Aesthetic Advancements, Institute (AAI), the internationally recognized leader in continuing medical education in aesthetics. She also served as president of Ideal Esthetic Educators (IEE), a company that works with practitioners and industry manufacturers to provide hands-on aesthetic training and education. Dawn Sagrillo has served on nearly 20 different committees and professional boards throughout her career. She has been actively involved in the International Society for Plastic and Aesthetic Nurses (ISPAN), the Plastic Surgical Nursing Certification Board (PSNCB), and the Plastic Surgical Nursing (PSN) Journal Editorial Board for many years. She was part of the founding committee that developed the Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist (CANS) national certification examination. She has published more than 50 articles and is sought after for community speaking engagements as well as peer-to-peer presentations at national industry meetings.
