Shelia Anderson, a native of North Carolina, began her aesthetic career in Seattle, WA. With a background in critical care nursing, there is always the search for cause and effect, analysis of the situation and a constant thirst for knowledge. Working with plastic surgeons enabled Shelia to understand facial anatomy and the aging process to which she is able to apply her aesthetic talents. Her work with dermatologists is key to her understanding of skin, lasers and energy devices.
In 1996, when Shelia transitioned from critical care to the plastic surgery arena, there was no formal education or programs for transition into the aesthetic market. By the year 2002, after the approval of Botox for cosmetic use and the first FDA approved hyaluronic acid filler, Shelia began to train colleagues who were interested in aesthetics.
Shelia is a licensed registered nurse (RN) in her residential state of Washington, but is also licensed in North Carolina, Colorado, California, Hawaii and Nevada. She was one of the first nurses in the US to complete the Certification for Aesthetic Nursing Specialist (CANS) exam by the Plastic Surgical Nursing Certification Board (PSNCB).
Shelia is passionate about education for herself and others. She is one of the original trainers for Allergan and currently serves as a trainer for the Allergan Medical Institute (AMI) in addition to providing private training through her company Elite Medical Aesthetic Training. We are honored to have Shelia as one of the Faculty Trainers for TITAN!
